"Bongo!" ~ (aka Paulie) Loving Lil Missy and Rahway!

~Bongo~ was another example of breeding gone bad. GROWL went to PA and rescued 11 JRT's from a breeder. Needless to say they all needed a little extra care, you will see "Socks" in a another part of this blog, she was also a part of this eleven. Bongo is loving his new life in Rahway with Warren and Jennifer and his fursister a terrier mix named Missy! We want to thank the Chens for adopting Bongo and giving him the forever love and care that he so deserves!

Warren even said they even thought of naming him Pogo because Bongo truly lives up to that JRT trait of bouncing EVERYWERE!!! Kinda hard to believe it as he looks so calm sunning here, well I know first hand this little man can run some laps around us all!!!

"Little Noah" ~ aka "Slate"

Noah (formerly known as Slate) was pulled from a high kill shelter in South Carolina like many of these lucky babies. He and his littermates went into foster and soon after they made there way north to be adopted to some amazing families! This is Noah on his adoption day with Ellen and her daughter. She has Noah in puppy classes now and is even considering having him trained to be a therapy dog! We look forward to hearing of Noahs "puppy progress" and getting some great pics to come. This is also a picture of Noah in January.

Tully and O'Reilly Rule Their House!!!

Tully was rescued from a breeder in PA. He was living with other Bishons in aouse that had no electricity and we had to chase them around the living room with a oil lantern. He was quite a mess when we found him, he was matted in some areas but yet hair loss in alot of areas due to being flea infested! We took him back to NY to the groomers and he got a "luxury" bath!! Here he is with his furbrother O'Reilly (Tully has the black nose)!!! We want to thank Lucy for always sending us great pics of these guys and keeping us updated! We love pics of the GROWLKIDS and seeing them sooooo happy and loved the way they all deserve!!!

Huge thanks to the Zieglers fr chosing to adopt and welcome a GROWLKID into their home!!!

"Grits" ~ Living it up in Vegas baby!!

One of my personal first rescues other than cockers was Grits! She was in a very high kill shelter in South Carolina. When I pulled Grits she had NO HAIR all over her face from allergies. She looked much worse than her shelter pic here. Grits soon had a wonderful lady apply for her in Las Vegas that wanted Grits no matter what and loved her no matter how much hair she had (or didnt have). So aboard a flight Little Miss Grits went to Nevada!! It was a true match!!! Here is Little Miss Grits now (named after her southern roots) lounging with Wylie whom was rescued off of a LA freeway! She has truly found her forever home and after quite a few years she still looks soooo beautiful!!

Oh and if you want to check her mommys website out, have a look at her awesome PJ's!!

Sally "adopted" the Kennedys and as you can see she is right at home! She is still a little shy so they are thinking of getting her a sibling to maybe help bring her around a little more! Congrats Sally on finding yourself such a awesome family!!!!

~Beau~ Living it Up in New Jersey!!

~Beau~ is one lucky black lab rescued from South Carolina! He was brought up from a high kill shelter and has found his forever home in New Jersey with Beth and her family!!! A huge Kudos for Brenda's help with Beaus adoption also, we would have found Beth and her great family without the Great Mrs. Brenda!! Congrats Beau you are a very handsome man!!!

Philip Gregory Omer ~ Loving Husband,Father,Brother and Friend

As many of you know Audra lost her wonderful father on December 23, 2008. Mr. Omer was a amazing man and loved by everyone whom he came in contact with. He touched the lives of so many. I have put together a slide below so that we can share with everyone a few memories of Mr. Omer. He and Mrs. Nancy proudly adopted Jimmy, a chocolate lab from the Barnwell County Animal Shelter and he also proudly drove and rode with Audra on many transports. He attended every function in SC and supported Audra all the way in everything that she did. She is truly going to miss him, as we all are, and I ask that you all please keep her in your prayers hoping she can somehow find peace and strength.

You will see pictures of him with Mrs. Nancy, Audra, some of his many friends, and even spending time with Audras dogs!!

"Buddy"~ Prime Example of Failed Fostering 101~

Buddy was in a high kill shelter in Barnwell, SC. We brought him north on a transport and he went into a foster home in PA, well his foster home loved him so much they thought of keeping him, but then they said just maybe it was a little much, but wouldnt you know it Jenn and her family in the end failed fostering 101!!! Buddy is in his new home in PA and loving it!!! Below is Buddys depressed shelter pic and below that you can see how happy this boy is now!!!

Buddy Living it up in his new home!!!!! He is sooo happy, you can tell by his grins!!!

Little Mia and Hudson (aka Cooner) ~ SC Babies at Home in NY!!

Little Mia and Hudson (aka Cooner) were both rescued from a SC high kill shelter. They came up just weeks apart and their new parents fell in love with them BOTH at first sight!!! They have other fur-brothers and sisters and we are fortunate to see them alot in NY.

Little Mia.... Rescued from a SC high kill shelter!! This is when she was just weeks old and Dawn brought her north in just a little carry bag she was so tiny! Her "owner" in SC had bought her at the flea market and put her outside and she was bumping into things so they assumed she was blind and they called the vet to have her euthanized. She was just weeks old!!! Dr. Miller called me on that weekend to please come and get her and well over to Barnwell I went and she came north to find her forever home. Oh and by the way, she wasnt a "cocker" like the lady had told the vet and she is definately not BLIND!

This was Cooner in the shelter in Barnwell SC, scared and looking for a family, well he has found it now!!!

Mia and Hudson Now with one of their fur-brothers Luke, Their mommy Madeline and Papa George!

Lucy ~ The New Graduate!!!

"Lucy"~also previously known as "Jazzy" was a rescue from South Carolina. When I first got "Jazzy" she was all grown out and just a huge puffball! We went straight to the groomer as she had fleas to no end and she got herself the full spa treatment from my Aunt Jeanette! We then headed to Dr. Millers office in Barnwell , SC for her shots and well later that night we headed to NJ. A long trip for little "Jazzy", but she found herself the perfect home with the Salmnons!!! Below you will see the new "Lucy" graduating from her puppy kindergarten!!! She has found her furever home and we are soooo happy for the Salmon family.

"Patch" ~ A Special Needs GrowlKid from SC

We just want to share this cute pic of a very special GrowlKid. Her name is Patch and she came out of a litter of 8. One of her siblings did not make it but for each one who did we thanked God! See, this litter had bites all over them up by some adult dog. When we pulled them out of the shelter and sent them to a foster home they had cysts and lumps and holes all over them. This foster mom has fostered MANY sick, healthy, tiny, big and anything else you can think of. But with this litter she failed fostering 101 and decided to keep Patch. When Patch went to her new home (to be fostered) at 3-4 weeks old she had a LARGE cyst over her eye which was making her eye swell shut and she had holes on her neck where someone's teeth had gone in. She also had a chronic runny nose which come to find out was because of when she was bit as a pup it had gone into her sinus and she had an infection on the bone. The vet cleared it out and cleaned the infection out of the bone and now 'Princess Patch' is a healthy happy little girl. This was just one of the medical needy puppies this amazing foster has taken care of and nursed to health. We are so happy that Patch, her mom and her fur siblings are all so happy!!!

"Osi" ~ What a Handsome Man!!

Osi is quite the ladies man!!! He was rescued as a lone pup from the Greenville SC kill shelter. He was placed in foster in SC and came north when he was determined to be healthy! His new mommy Theodora sent us this picure of him now at 4 months old! What a big boy he is becoming!!! Also, along side getting Osi a couple of months ago, his mommy got a "surprise" collar the night before with her engagement ring on it!!! We are wondering now if Osi will be the ring bearer :)

~Gunner~ Rules The Asher Household!!

Gunner was rescued from a kill shelter in Ohio last year. He came to NJ with a group of ELEVEN cockers right before Thanksgiving. He had his little issues and was with Dawn for a little while. Gunner found the absolute perfect cocker experienced family to handle him and they weathered the cocker attitude with Gunner as he was just around a year old and needed a bit of reinforcement on his manners. He now lives with Marlene and Stu and his furcat as well!! Here is the most recent picture of Gunner looking handsome as always!!! He's quite the king now!!

~ "Odie" At Home in New York! ~

"Odie" aka Sebastian....is completely at home with the Thomas family in New York. He has made himself untouchable!! He completely rules the house as you can see and sleeps with them all in their beds!!!. "Odie" was from a litter of 3 babies pulled from a high kill shelter in South Carolina.

Little Louie Update!!! "aka Mason"

Little Louie was rescued from a SC kill shelter and is now living in NY with the Grahams! He has grown so much we just can't believe it!!! Here are a few pics of Louie right after he came up and was placed with the Grahams and also his Christmas picture and as always in NY, a great snow pic!!
