Luckily the entire litter was able to be rescued by GROWL. Thanks you all of the GROWL supporters on Facebook and everywhere, these guys all made it on the Holiday Transport in December.

Congrats Rembert, your Auntie Dawn loves seeing you so happy!

Ole Babygirl (Winky)!

*Adoption Update - Babygirl (Winky)*

Many of you remember little Winky that was rescued from a kill shelter in South Carolina along with her brother and mom. This little girl was so very small when she got to me that she was underweight, dehydrated and barely alive. I stayed up with her 24/7 for around 10 days giving her fluids every single hour by syringe. IV would have been too much for her little body and she was on a wing and a prayer. My vet told me to give her all she will take She had the will to live and drank all the fluids I would give her religiously. I had the feeling that this little girl would be mine forever because of the bond we formed. Her brother was ready for his forever home and I did want to see how she would do away from me so she went to foster with one of my amazing foster homes. Maureen is very strict foster and she makes certain she doesn't get too attached and her fosters move fast.

I soon got a call after a couple of days asking that if I didn't keep Winky could we share her. I knew at that point, my Little Miracle Winky was leaving me, it was meant to be. She was going to a amazing home with Maureen and her family, along with 2 great Basset Hounds. This was the answers to my prayers be cause I get to see Babygirl, as she is now called, pretty much every month and she has grown into such a amazing little wonder.

Just so everyone knows exactly how Winky got her name from me, She wasn't always at full strength but when she was she would also look and focus on me and wink with one little eye. I knew then she was focused on getting better and she would survive!

Thank you to Maureen and her great family for loving this little miracle as much as I do and giving her that love every single day!

Beaches was the "underdog" at a South Carolina kill shelter. Beaches was your typical little black lab pup that noone wanted. Time ticked away and no rescue had stepped up for Beaches. GROWL was tagged as the last resort rescue.

Beaches came to New Jersey via GROWL and she went into her foster home in Washington Township, New Jersey. Amy and her family loved her from day one and she started learning her "house manners". She also was renamed Melissa, this little girl soon had a amazing shiny coat, great car manners and was a true lovebug blossoming! After a little over a month, Melissa (Beaches) was soon adopted to the Noe family of Brick, New Jersey!

As you can see, she has settled in quite nicely and also has 2 sisters, Ginger a senior Golden and Skyler a wonderful Boston Terrier. I want to thank the Noe Family for giving such a wonderful home to this special "underdog", she is now known as "Baby", A name she clearly meets all requirements to have!

Mickey and Minnie * New Adoptable GROWLKIDS!

Warning! These 2 little cuties will make you squeal! They are absolutely adorable and they LOVE chasing each other! Mickey and Minnie are 13-14 weeks old and they are Corgi/Chihuahua mixes. They are also pretty bonded and it would be wonderful if they could be adopted into the same home. Mickey and Minnie were in a high kill shelter in South Carolina, and also upon arrival suffered from hair loss. They were fostered by a shelter employee until they were ready to find their forever homes! These 2 are absolutely adorable and would be wonderful with kids, other playful pups and cats wouldn't be a problem at their age.

BeeGee Loving Her Forever Home In Pompton Lakes, NJ!

BeeGee was turned into the shelter in South Carolina because her family "couldn't afford her". They said BeeGee was about 12 years old and actually very overweight. This sweetie went into foster in South Carolina and was waiting for her rescue. As soon as I saw BeeGees picture online I knew that GROWL had to rescue this lovebug and find her a true forever home. She made her way to New Jersey via GROWL and has since found her forever mom Danyelle and her fur-brothers and fur-sister! She is loved and secure in her forever home and is quite the unique lady. She is actually about 5-6 years old and full of personality. She nibbles her mommy when she wakes before her so Danyelle can take her out and when she gets a treat she takes it and hides it for later. She clearly has alot to smile about! They both do because Danyelle knows that she has a true gem as an addition to her family! She also has a name change and she goes by Lucy now, so she has a complete new start in life!

Georgia Boy Claims Manhattan!

Mr. Clayton found himself in a very high kill shelter in Georgia. He was on the kill line for a Friday. GROWL stepped up for Clayton and on Thursday evening Clayton was out of there and safe! He was fully vetted and made his way to New Jersey via GROWL. He was placed on Petfinder and Adopt-a-Pet and as soon as Gwen say Clayton she knew she wanted to adopt him. The meeting was setup and I would love to say it clearly was love at first sight. Clayton had found his forever home with Gwen and Joel, there was no looking back from this boy.

He is enjoying Central Park in the top picture and as you can see he truly has found a secure and loving home enough to let loose and relax in the bed too!

 Congrats Gwen, Joel and Clayton!

Mr. Pixar has taken over Manhattan! Pixar was rescued by GROWL after he was discovered in a kill shelter in South Carolina. Pixar had been there about 9 months and just didn't really bond with anyone that wanted to rescue him. So as a shelter favorite he had lasted there for months but poor Pixar deserved a forever home. Once GROWL saw Pixar he was sure to come along and be a GROWLKID! Since being rescued Pixar has basically taken over Manhattan, sniffing and smelling every stoop, hydrant and everything around! Congrats on Pixar on FINALLY finding your FOREVER loving home.

Zoey (Farrah) Takes Manhattan!

Farrah found herself in a kill shelter in South Carolina. She had quite a few strikes against her, she was 5-6 months old and past that itty bitty puppy stage, she is black, and she was in the south. That's actually 3 strikes against her and generally those are enough that she can't make it out alive. Fortunately for Farrah, she was rescued by GROWL and was on her way to a new life. Farrah came up to New Jersey in search of her second chance and her forever home. She was already basically housetrained and had great manners as well. She was a true gem! Kathryn and Scott applied for Farrah and were approved to foster to adopt this lovely southern girl. She is doing well in Manhattan as you can tell and she is getting the much love that she deserves! Thank you to Kathryn and Scoot for opening their hearts and home to Farrah and providing her with the security that she needs as well. Farrah also has a new name to start her new life, so Zoey as she is now called is truly one lucky lady!

Cocoa Has Opened Up and Is Loving Life!

Cocoa is a beautiful phantom cockapoo, she was a little shy lady. She was rehomed by GROWL to the Bell family in South Jersey. Cocoa now has a fur-brother named Jet thats also a cockapoo. She soon opened up and Jet and Cocoa have become the best of friends now. As you can see she is enjoying her big back yard and her and Jet play chase all the time. Brianna Is LOVING Her New Life In Hawthorne, New Jersey

As I looked through the kill list at a South Carolina shelter this little petite choclate lab caught my eye. I watched her for a couple of days and noone stepped up to pull her. I didn't understand it at all, so the day before transport was heading to New Jersey, I pulled little Brianna and she headed north in search of her forever home. Soon after being in New Jersey she had a adoption appointment thanks to a wonderful GROWL supporter Ilena! They were immediately smitten with Brianna and she had indeed found her new home and she also has a fur-brother as well thats a quite large black lab. They go on walk and hikes all the time and love the outdoors! Brianna is now named Molly and she is indeed a very lucky labby girl!

Kalani of the 7 Sizzling Sisters! Three Years Later....

There was a litter of seven black lab female puppies at a rural kill shelter in South Carolina. Little Kalani was indeed one of those seven. She continues to be a wonderful companion to mom Liza. Here is a wonderful updated picture of Kalani, its been great watching Kalani grow up as we have stayed in touch with Liza and we have seen updates and pictures of her growing so big and beautiful! Thanks Liza for opening your home and heart to this wonderful girl 3 years ago. She truly is a fortunate girl.

Spice & Her Brothers Turn TWO!

Spice was the only female in the litter of puppies that were rescued from a rural high kill shelter in Barnwell, South Carolina. Spice was a very sweet and loving little lady and always did have unique markings. The litter recently celebrated their 2 year birthdays. Time has passed and all of these babies have grown to be so big and beautiful and are very smart and loyal. This litter is the litter that was also seen on The Martha Stewart Show. Spice was actually my adoption appointment following the filming of the show. We went from the show to her home visit and adoption finalization. It was there that I actually was able to watch the show with Donna as she had taped it. I thank all of these babies homes and want to post some of the updates as well because they are all so very special as are all of the GROWLKIDS. Spice is now named Lexi and is residing in New Jersey.

Senior Chihuahua Frannie Has Welcomed Two Human Siblings!

It seems like just a few months ago Frannie and Frankie were in South Carolina at a rescue and not getting any interest. In fact it was almost 2 years ago! GROWL was asked by that rescue to please acccept them and place them in NJ/NY if at all possible. They were irresistable so they both headed north and GROWL was in search of finding them a forever home. A couple of weeks later Anthony and Mindy saw them and adopted both Frankie and Frannie. They saw the love and care they so craved and deserved. A little while after their first baby was born Frankie started getting very protective so we had to move Frankie from the home and relocate him to another family in New Jersey that has spoiled him rotten as well. These are a couple of pictures of little Frannie now with her family and now her two human siblings!

Elijah Is Almost FOUR! Unbelievable....

It merely seems like yesterday GROWL rescued a litter of little black lab mix puppies from a rural kill shelter in South Carolina. Well Eli (Elijah) is clearly proof that time has flown by and that he clearly was adopted to a wonderful couple in New York that love him dearly! He is almost FOUR years old! Seeing updates and pictures of Eli over the years has been just delightful and I can't thank the Travers family for giving this amazing boy a GREAT home!

Ernie Is Loving His Forever Home In PA

Ernie, the adorable southern boy, has already found his forever home in PA. Ernie was rescued from a rural kill shelter in South Carolina. This little calm boy loves to give unconditional kisses and cuddle with you for hours. Thanks to Supporter Meredith Lamm, Ernie was introduced to his forever mommy Barbara. Barbara had been looking for a companion and had been going to pet shops and looking to buy a companion and Meredith spoke highly of rescue to Barbara and she agreed to consider adoption and meet a couple of the dogs GROWL had available for adoption. Upon meeting Ernie it was pretty much love at first lick! Ernie is now named "Buddy", and he truly is Barbaras little buddy. Thanks to Meredith for introducing GROWL to Barbara and having a huge part in making Barbara and Ernie best buddies!

Fannie Is All Plump Now and Loving Her New Buddy!

Poor little Fannie found herself in a very rural high kill shelter. Fannie is a red dachshund around 2 years old. She was rescued by GROWL once we found out about her. She was very malnourished and soon after pulling her she came doen with kennel cough and lost even more weight. She soon recovered and was transported to New Jersey. Susan and her family had been looking for a buddy for their son and he had fallen in love with Fannie when he saw her. She was still in need of extra care and alot of extra meals and some plumping up! Fannie went to Susan and her family on a foster to adopt and it was soon decided that little miss Fannie wasn't going anywhere. As you can see, she is also a hit at the Cub Scout meetings as well.

Truman and Pierre Are Buddies in New York!

When Pierre went online he was looking for a companion and a buddy to walk and hang out with. He soon saw Trumans picture and surely thought that this little man was indeed his pal. Truman was rescued from a South Carolina kill shelter via Carolina Cockers Rescue. He had been in South Carolina for a few months and they asked GROWL to please find Truman and wonderful home. Truman set out on his trip to New Jersey and after we received the application for Truman we spoke with Pierre and set up the meeting for Truman. He went into a foster to adopt with Pierre and a couple of days later I re-visited Pierre in Orangeburg, New York officially signed Trumans adoption paperwork. He is truely in a WONDERFUL home and those 2 are the best of buddies!

Brandy Is Loving Her Second Chance

As stunning and sweet as this wonderful girl is, she still ended up in a South Carolina kill shelter. Brandy was in a kennel with another older black and tan setter. The setter was rescued and Brandy was left behind. Brandy was then pulled by GROWL and transported up to New Jersey so that she too could have a second chance at life! Brandy was only a baby, a mere 5 months old. She had obviously not had the best beginning in her life and she needed a patient and loving home to call her own forever. When Harry saw Brandy online he never gave up to get a appointment and a home visit for her. Even contacting a previous adopter via the GROWL blog so I would know he and his wife were very sincere about adopting her. A few days later after Brandy was spayed she went on her meet and greet/home visit. It was love at first site and Brandy had indeed met her new family and the loving home she would call her own. Congratulations to Brandy and thanks to the Bess family for adopting and saving a life!

What A Difference 2.5 Years Makes! Bella Has Blossomed

Two and a half years ago, GROWL pulled a little tan fluffy girl named Pheebee. She didn't have a beautiful coat at first, she was poorly fed and her care wasn't great in the south. She was in a kill shelter and slated for death. Pheebee was transported to New Jersey and she was in search of finding her forever home. It was long before Pheebee was intoduced to her new mommy Mindy. Pheebee left her foster home in New Jersey which adored her as well and she set off on her new life in New York City. AS you can see she has become a beautiful little lady, now named Bella.

Sunshine Has Made The Days Bright For Lauren And Neil In Newburgh, New York

The sun is shining in Newburgh, New York! The days were once dark and gloomy for a special little lady name Sunshine. She was rescued from South Carolina when a rescue requested that GROWL take Sunshine and find her a loving home. That actually didn't take much time at all! As soon as Lauren saw Sunshine online she submitted her application and we worked with her during the week to organize a meet and greet. It was love at first sight for Lauren and as soon as she met Sunshine a new beginning had begun for them both. Sunshine now lives in Newburgh, New York with Lauren and Neil and as you can tell she feel very comfy in her new bed! Thanks to Lauren and Neil for adopting this baby and saving her life!

Skye Has To Be On Cloud 9!

Little Skye found herself in a South Carolina kill shelter facing death. She was rescued from the shelter by GROWL and veteran rescuer Kerry Bryce. She made her way to New Jersey and Skye immediatly melted the hearts of Tom and Lindsey. Once she visited them, ran and sniffed EVERYTHING in the backyard, the rest was history. Skye is in her forever home getting all the attention and love she could want. Everyone is on cloud nine with little Skye!

Lil Bit Is Surely Making A Statement in Her New Jersey Home!

Lil Bit was turned into a rural South Carolina shelter with her pal Precious. These two little ladies have the hearts of gold. Both of them were pulled by GROWL and transported up to New Jersey to find their forever homes. Cheryl saw Lil Bit online and shortly after she emailed and we scheduled her meet and greet and home visit. Cheryl had been around Cammi her boyfriends dachshund and fell in love with her and they wanted to add a new addition. The meeting was set and as soon as the family laid their eyes on Lil Bit they absolutely loved her. They are in the process of ironing out some little kinks (Lil Bit LOVES to bark 24/7 when alone) but love Lil Bit to pieces and she is definately being spoiled like she never has been! Lil Bit is on the left in the picture and Cammi her fur-sister is on the left. Congrats to Lil Bit and Cheryl and her family as well. Thank you also for opting to adopt and saving a life.

Sugar is Curled Up In Staten Island!

Little Miss Sugar was a owner turn in to a rural South Carolina kill shelter. Sugar is a true southern sweetheart, she even sits up and begs for treats and LOVES her bellyrubs! She was rescued by GROWL and she rode the GROWLVAN north to find her forever home. Kim and her family applied to meet Sugar and soon after we had a home visit and a meeting and Sugar begged them all for bellyrubs and she turned on the charm so they would love her! Well, Sugar must have done a great job because after that night Sugar has been loved on, gotten many belly rubs, a pink bed of her very own (that you can see her fur-brother Nikko sleeps in), and all the kisses and love she deserves. She also has a fur-brother Nikko as you can see in the picture and he too is so well cared for that Sugar is sure to get the best care and all-natural foods and treats just like Nikko! She hit the rags to riches lottery and we are so happy for Sugar and the Marino family.

Rachet is Curled Up Forever!

Little Rachet has made his way from rural South Carolina to New Jersey. Since being in New Jersey he was in foster care with Shirley, her kids, GROWLKID Sweetie and her other 2 pups. It was with a tear filled joy that Rachet left Shirley and the gang and ventured into his new foster to adopt home in New York. As you can see from the photo, it appears Rachet has indeed snuggled his way into his forever home. He also has 2 cats that he shares in his new home and well his mommy and daddy have video of the home so they used to watch the cats play all day when away but now they have Rachet that can entertain them as well. Congrats Rachet!

Binkys Personality Won Her A Loving Family!

Binky has found her forever home in New Jersey! Binky was rescued from a kill shelter in South Carolina. Binky was in a foster home with Fannie in New Jersey when they first arrived. Fannie was the one the foster originally wanted to foster to adopt but when they saw how well Fannie and Binky got along, lucky for GROWL they fostered both girls! They were both soon hits in the family and both girls were loved equally but they have completely different personalities. I soon got a call that some family members of the foster family had been over and that they wanted to keep them both and the foster family wanted to adopt Fannie and the brother to Susan, the foster, wanted to adopt Binky into their family! Its was great because they could also play together and still see one another! Here is Binky in her forever home in New Jersey with her human sister!

Spunky Little Dean Finds His Forever Home!

Dean, the spunky little puppy rescued from South Carolina, surely is living a dream. In South Carolina his odds were not good of making it out of the kill shelter alive. You see little black puppies are so common that everyone always picks another dog rather than choosing one of the many little black ones. Dean got his break though when retired rescuer Kerry Bryce visited the shelter and confirmed him as one that GROWL would be taking into rescue. Dean soon found his way north the next week, and soon into his forever loving home in Pennsylvania. As you can see, spunky Dean has conformed to a little lapdog at times as well. Thanks to the Feeley family for giving Dean the home he so deserves and for opening their hearts and home to him.

ChiChi bonded with Tony and his mother immediately and as I was leaving the St. Patricks Parade was passing so little ChiChi got to enjoy her first parade in her new home! Wyman (Max) and Jazzie ~ Friends Forever!

After spending about a month in a kill shelter in South Carolina, Wyman made his way out of the shelter by GROWL and up to New Jersey. Wyman finally found his forever home and buddy in New Jersey. Wyman is quite the special little boy. He had some cute habits we all remember. He loves to sleep right beside you and he has a habit of making a nest in your hair to sleep. Quite the cutie! Wyman went into a foster home and soon our foster was contacted by friend that was looking for a special puppy for Jazzie. Wyman seemed to be the perfect one. Upon the visit, Wyman stayed for a few days to make sure he was indeed a perfect fit and as we all knew, Wyman was indeed in his forever home and he had a little buddy now in Jazzie so he would be busy all day! Wymans new name is Max and we are very thankful that he has this second chance and can make Jazzie smile too!
